Guilt with a Side of Milo Greene

Graduation finally happened.  School is finished.

We've had family visitors.  We've had some small adventures.

We've cooked and baked.  We've gone a little crazy, and gotten a little older.

We've finished with Cub Scouts.  We've sold some of our furniture.  We've started packing for our move.  We've made plans for our summer.  We're still making plans for the Fall (and the following future).    And yet, despite all of my blog-worthy activities I've neglected you until now.  The most annoying part of all of this is how guilty I've felt about neglecting you.  (So, I'm sorry.)  I think part of why I haven't posted anything (especially food-related) in a long time is that I usually forget to take pictures.  Silly, I know, because this blog was never intended to be solely a food blog.  All of those fancy food blogs are also photography blogs, dang them! It's intimidating!  I don't know why it matters so much to me.  I feel like I need to compete, which I don't, and it stresses me out.  So, yes, we've still been cooking, and there have been recipes I've wanted to share - but without pretty pictures, will you even care?  Will my writing be enough?  Do I just need to pay a little more attention and have the camera in the kitchen at all times to try to remember to take some pictures before I've finished eating it?  Ay, ay, ay.

Alright, here's what I'm going to do.  Visual-sensory experiences are important, so I'm going to try.  I'm going to try and take more pictures.  I'm going to try and practice enough to feel comfortable.  I'm going to trust that you'll be patient with the less-than-stellar photos of the food we make until (eventually) they look a little better.  I'm going to try and remember that as much as photography appeals to people, the truth is that most people just want something delicious to eat (just me?).

In the meantime, I have to show you this music.  It's from a newly formed band called Milo Greene, with only two songs available for listening online.  (No, you can't purchase anything yet.  I've searched and searched.)  It's four fellas and a lady, and I think you'll enjoy it.  I liked it so much, that it inspired this whole visit to this blog and virtual bookshelf to show y'all this "Breezy with a beat ... infectious, sunny, pop song of harmonizing bliss" and to help me remember to look into when they will eventually release an album.  These are their songs, "1957," and "Don't You Give Up On Me."

Thanks for visiting.  See you around.   :)
