A Garden, Fridays Out, and Some Tidbits

Guys, we started a garden.
Couldn't have done it without out my mom who came over Easter weekend and helped prep everything.  Both of us grew up with family gardens, but this is our first foray as grown-ups.  I'm hoping for a few things.  1. That not too much gets eaten by critters.  2. That I don't see a gopher while gardening (I've seen gopher holes in the surrounding area).  3. That we get something, really anything, that survives long enough for us to use.  At this point, we're calling it a "hobby garden," so that way if we fail miserably our feelings won't be too hurt. Ha. :)

I love Fridays.  We usually go out on Fridays, and I love it.  I love the not-cooking-at-the-beginning-of-the-weekend.  I love the leftovers-for-lunch-the-next-day.  I love getting ready to go out with Ryan.  I love getting my big, cold glass of soda.  I love hanging out with Ryan, talking about his work, our life and families, upcoming travel, and the menu for next week.  I also love that Ryan agreed to make the dinner plans if I rode the bus to meet him at work.  I haven't ridden the bus here in town, so it should be (enter nervous sound here).  I have been telling myself it's just like USU's Aggie Shuttle so I'll stop being nervous.  Plus, I can just get over whatever silly fears I have since he made reservations at Rancho de Chimayo.

Do you have any fun plans for tonight? For the weekend?

In the meantime, here are some interesting tidbits from the internet.

-I signed up for a painting class that begins next week! - Not from the internet, just a fun tidbit!
-Liv Tyler, her rocker mother, and her etiquette-expert grandmother.
-I've been looking for new skirts - but maybe I should just make my own?
-Mark Bittman talks about pizza pies.
-The controversial New Mexico tourism ad campaign.
-Ryan is going to stay in this sweet hotel for his conference this weekend.

  1. Awe! I loved this post! So fun to hear what you two are up to! I love Fridays for the same reasons. As for the bus... I bet it's not like the shuttle but... you'll be o...k... :)
